Andrew Warhola

Just came back from Andy Warhol's exhibition Mr. America at the Estação Pinacoteca, SP, which is the artist's biggest selection of paintings, engravings, photographs and series of films in Brazil.

Most art works originate from 1961-1968, when the artist worked at The Factory, his Midtown Manhattan studio.

The exhibiton is full of Andy's quotes, like this one:

“People’s fantasies are what give the problems. If you didn’t have fantasies wouldn’t have problems because you’d just take whatever was there. But then you wouldn’t have romance, because romance is finding your fantasy in people who don’t love it. A friend of mine always says, ‘Women love me for the man I’m not’ “

[From A to B & Back Again - The philosophy of Andy Warhol]
